Democrats, Republicans Head to Ohio Supreme Court in Public Records Cases

The Ohio Democratic Party has filed a suit in the Ohio Supreme Court against Gov. Kasich and Lt. Gov. Mary Taylor, asking the court to order the pair to provide emails and other correspondence between Kasich, Taylor and her former chief of staff.

That chief of staff and another employee resigned at the same time, after Taylor referred their time sheets and parking records to the state inspector general. But Democrats have raised questions about whether there was a hostile work environment in Taylor's office.

The Ohio Republican Party is asking the court for some information too: the key-card records of Democratic gubernatorial candidate Ed FitzGerald showing when he enters and leaves Cuyahoga County buildings and parking facilities. FitzGerald has said he would not release that information because of security concerns.
