Kasich Gathers New Ideas for State Fair

After cutting the ceremonial ribbon with the Ohio State Fair commission, Kasich walked around the fairgrounds and talked to vendors about how they think the event could improve.

Ideas included bringing back the Grandstand concert venue and tractor-pull competitions. The governor said he wants to keep developing the fair without changing it’s core.

“The fair is part of Ohio’s DNA," Kasich said. "You don’t want to mess with the DNA, but you want to do what you can do to look forward and capture some of the great things we’ve had in the past."

Planting more trees along the midway and creating an agriculture art contest are some new additions brought in by Kasich.

The Ohio State Fair runs through Aug. 3.
