Top executives at four of the Clinic's community hospitals - Fairview, Lutheran, South Pointe and Hillcrest - will be changing.
The Clinic's Dr. David Bronson says the reorganization is in response to one retirement and several executive promotions. Notably, Fairview President Jan Murphy will become chief operating officer of the Sheikh Kalifa Medical City - one of two Clinic operations in Abu Dhabi.
In addition to changes in leadership, several dozen of the Clinic's outpatient centers will now be reporting to the same top executive who leads the community hospitals. That move should make it easier to coordinate care between the hospital and the office settings where most patients go to see their doctors and get checkups.
"Traditionally hospitals and doctor's offices have been independent silos that don't communicate well with each other and many patients experience problems. With this we hope to enhance the ability of our health system to provide seamless care. . . and also to avoid duplication of testing and procedures," Bronson says.
Bronson also says the changes are part of the natural growth of the organization and will take effect Sept. 1.
