Frolik research has found that Ohio’s per capita personal income last year grew faster than that of 47 other states, but he adds -- the numbers don’t prove whether Republican policies or Democratic policies should get the credit.
Republicans have contended that lower taxes and relaxed regulation of businesses have combined to attract more jobs here. Democrats have countered by arguing that the federal bailout of the auto industry, pushed through by President Obama and a Democratic-majority Congress, should get the credit for Ohio’s economic recovery.
