Cleveland Chief Operating Officer Darnell Brown says the city wants to keep streets clear where there are signs prohibiting parking in snowy weather -- as well as on other downtown and neighborhood roadways.

BROWN: "And in the community, where there are not signs posted, we again are encouraging people, do not park on the street because we can provide quicker, better service to the residents by plowing curb-to-curb. It also helps for our emergency response for police, fire and EMS."

Police can give citations to drivers who leave their cars in spaces marked by signs that ban parking in the snow.
