Romney took the stage in the rain and asked for a moment of silence for the Americans killed this week in the attack on the U.S. consulate in Libya. Then he outlined his five point plan to create jobs, including expanding energy production - and especially natural gas.
ROMNEY: Some people discovered a number of years ago that you could drill not just vertically into the earth but vertically and then horizontally. And by doing so, they tapped into pockets of gas and oil. I'm going to make sure we take advantage of our oil, our gas, our coal, our nuclear, our renewables. We're going to get North American energy independence.
Mr. Obama has also promised to spark the economy by drilling for gas.
Joining Romney were Congressman Steve LaTourette, Senator Rob Portman and Senate candidate Josh Mandel. This is Romney's second visit to Northeast Ohio this week. Next week, President Obama will visit Cincinnati and Columbus.
