In yesterday's election more Ohio Catholics voted for Mitt Romney, a Mormon, than for Rick Santorum. It's somewhat of a surprise, as noted by John Greene of the University of Akron's Bliss Institute.
Green: "As in Michigan, Mitt Romney appears to be winning the Catholic vote and, of course, Rick Santorum is a Catholic and a quite conservative Catholic. So, it's interesting. (Santorum) seems to have more appeal among Evangelicals than among his own denomination."
