Minority Democrats in the Ohio legislature keep pushing for a moratorium and new limits on horizontal fracturing, or “fracking.” That’s a newly-refined process of extracting natural gas from shale, by drilling one vertical well in the ground -- and then drilling horizontally, pumping in chemical-laden water under high pressure to break up shale and release the gas trapped inside.
