Gov-elect John Kasich is continuing to add to his cabinet, this time appointing a Vietnam War vet to head the two-year old Department of Veterans Services. Retired Air Force Colonel Tom Moe of Lancaster (LANK-uh-ster) spent five years in the infamous "Hanoi Hilton" with Republican presidential nominee and US Senator John McCain, and has campaigned for McCain and Kasich. The incoming governor says Moe was the perfect choice to lead this agency.
Kasich says the 67-year-old Moe will be assisted by a Gulf War veteran who hasn't been selected, and together they'll do what Kasich calls an analysis of the department, which was created by Gov. Strickland in 2008. 70 percent of the agency's budget comes from the federal government.
