But having an election in Spetember is a first in the county, and the Board of Elections is concerned that its' usual base of poll workers might not be available.
So the county has opened an agressive campaign designed to bring people into the process.
54-hundred jobs, each paying from $172 to $200 for one days training and the election day job are available.
Elections director Jane Platten says there is a second reason for the push to recruit workers.
PLATTEN: "...Because it's the day after Labor Day... we are trying to encourage folks to sign up earlier. We'll continue to remind them that they've signed up. We will also hire extra people ,so that if someone forgets because of it being after Labor Day, we'll have enough people to fill in. "
