PBS Newshour anchor Jim Lehrer comes to Cleveland next week (June 15, 2010) and will be speaking here at the Idea Center.

Lehrer, a print reporter long before he moved into public television, says the news business is in a valley right now but that serious reporting at the local, state and national level remains as essential as ever. In an interview with 90.3, Lehrer says newspapers…despite their financial difficulties… will continue to be at the heart of providing that fact-vetted journalism.
