Maria Gonzalez, 41, of Orlando, Fla., said she knows exactly what Ellis meant.
"I've got four kids -- three in college -- and I don't have health coverage for me or them," said Gonzalez, who said she works in Florida, but was in Cleveland to pick up a cousin being discharged Sunday from St. Vincent.
"Right now I just try to save what I can and pay as I can, but it's not possible for us to go to the doctor very often. We don't want it to be free or anything, just a little easier."
