Demjanjuk's Attorney Says Client Faces Deportation Today

Attorney John Broadley says his client, John Demjanjuk, is home in suburban Cleveland while his family races to stop his deportation. Demjanjuk's son is driving to Cincinnati to file an appeal with the 6th US Circuit Court of Appeals. Last Friday, an immigration appeals court denied the family's request for an emergency stay. Demjanjuk's attorney argues the 89-year-old is too sick to face trial in Munich. Demjanjuk is accused of being an accessory to about 29 thousand deaths at a death camp in Nazi-occupied Poland.I. For decades, Demjanjuk has denied these claims saying he was a Ukranian prisoner of war. Demjanjuk's family says the accused is in near constant pain from several ailments and travel to Germany would amount to torture.
