Let's say you and your spouse make a little over $100,000 a year. You've got a mortgage you can afford, a couple of aging cars, and a young child at home. Then something happens. You or your spouse lose a job and your finances spiral out of control. That's essentially a story David Giffels tells in the Akron Beacon Journal's series: The American Dream Hanging By A Thread.
