Ohio Treasurer Richard Cordray says he'll continue to push lawmakers to pass legislation that would allow voters to decide whether the Ohio veterans of the Persian Gulf, Afghanistan, and Iraq wars should get a bonus for their service.
He says the issue has been tied up in the legislature and therefore could not be put on the November ballot.
Cordray says it's important to keep this issue on the front burner because current veterans should have the same opportunities as veterans of other wars.
Veterans of Vietnam were not the only ones who received bonuses from the state.
Ohio voters also approved money for veterans of the civil war, world wars one and two and the Korean conflict.
