Northeast Ohio Green Expo will feature more than 50 exhibits by companies producing renewable energy and energy-efficient products.
Athan Barkouokis is the program manager for Green Energy Ohio, and says many governments are already contacting his agency with questions about how to better conserve.
ATHAN BARKOUKIS: "Their energy bills are skyrocketing, (with) fuel prices - trying to figure out how they can curb costs, so we get a lot of inquiries from cities and counties."
For the public, exhibits will focus on what can be done locally as well as globally, including how to save money in your homes.
Barkoukis says the increased attention to alternative energy by both presidential candidates has kept the issue in the forefront, and Ohio is poised to take advantage of that.
BARKOUKIS: "There's a lot of opportunity for jobs and manufacturing, bringing in foreign companies to Ohio, so it's win win for everybody."
The free exhibition is at Akron's Knight Center, beginning Saturday at 9:00 AM.
