Incoming Lorain Mayor May Split Safety/Service Role

The safety/service director is the second highest position in Lorain city government, and is responsible for running much of the city's day to day operations. With the police department facing sexual misconduct charges, union negotiations, and sewer projects in the works, mayor-elect Tony Krasienko says he's considering appointing separate safety and service chiefs when he takes office.

TONY KRASIENKO: We've got a very aggressive agenda to get accomplished, and I just want to make sure we don't lose focus on what we intend to accomplish by limiting personnel.

Krasienko says he's still considering some candidates who he thinks could handle the dual role. Krasienko, a democrat, replaces republican mayor John Romosor on January 2nd.
