In a special pre-Thanksgiving special, hear recipes from diverse cultural traditions.
The program recently traveled to the home of NPR producer Argin Hutchins to witness what he calls a "labor of love." Each Thanksgiving, Hutchins prepares his delicious deep-fried turkey for family and friends to savor. He began the tradition as a way to deal with grief after the death of two family members. Now, Hutchins says, the fried turkey has become a symbol of unity for his family.
