The Cleveland Indians say starting June 29th, the grass won't be the only thing that's green at Jacobs Field. In the next couple of weeks, 42 solar panels will be installed in the upper deck overlooking Carnegie Ave. Indians spokesman Bob DiBiasio says the panels will provide enough energy for about 400 TV sets in the stadium, though he admits that's just a fraction of the stadium's power use.
Bob DiBiasio: It's certainly not a huge step right at the moment, but it's an important first step.
DiBiasio says a main goal is to educate people about green energy, with displays showing how much power the panels are generating, and lessons on the science and history of solar power. Dan Bobkoff. 90.3.
