Campaign for Issue 19 Launches

The atrium lobby of MetroHealth Medical Center on Cleveland's near west side was filled with a full phalanx of area officials as well as some beneficiaries of Health and Human Services support. The programs that would receive levy funding range from early childhood services to home health care for seniors. County Commissioner Jimmy Dimora said local support is needed because there is little state help for such programs.

Jimmy Dimora: It's a small amount to pay for the safety net provided for children, for seniors, for addiction and mental health services. I can't emphasize enough the importance of these funds for keeping our society safe and healthy.

Backers of Issue 19 claim that the added cost to local homeowners will be a little over three dollars a month for every $100,000 of home valuation. David C. Barnett, 90.3.
