What is the Every Student Succeeds Act?

State’s all over the country are coming up with their individual plans on how they want to enact the Every Student Succeeds Act—or ESSA. The federal law was enacted last December and goes into effect in the 2017-2018 school year. The Ohio Department of Education is currently taking feedback from stakeholders throughout the state on what their plan should look like. StateImpact Ohio Education Reporter Michelle Faust has an introduction to the law and the state roll-out.
