The average person claims to have read four books in the last year, yet one out of four adults hasn't cracked a single book in over 12 months. What's on your nightstand? Book sales are flat. Blame the competition for time: TV, movies, the internet, cell phones - And are the numbers all that surprising given that one in five Americans read at a fifth grade level or below?
