Talking Transplants

Next week, channel five newsman Jack Marschall will donate his kidney. It's not a huge deal--people donate their kidneys all the time. The thing is, Jack is donating to a complete stranger. We'll talk with Marschall about his reasons for donating and how it inspired his daughter to donate her kidney to her ailing uncle. Now, of course, none of this would be necessary were it not for a huge shortage of available organs and a correspondingly massive waiting list. We'll also be joined by a pair of surgeons who work on transplants every day. We'll find out why waiting lists are so long, how they work to prioritize the sick and dying and what could be done to alleviate the problem. You're invited to join us with your questions. Tuesday morning at nine.Jack Marschall, kidney donor
