New York Times national correspondent John Schwartz knew his son, Joseph, was gay long before the child came out. Before he could fully come to terms with his sexuality, Joseph tried to kill himself. Schwartz's memoir about his son's struggles, and eventual triumph, seeks not to dispense advice, but to share the experience with other families in similar circumstances. And he'll share his thoughts with us.
