Paying for College There's still plenty of time to save up for college, provided your college-bound child is not yet even a twinkle in your eye. The cost of a higher education is higher than it's ever been, an average of $21, 600 last year for four-year colleges nationwide. That's two-and-a-half times more than these students' parents paid. On the next Sound of Ideas, our experts will discuss the soaring costs and share strategies for affording a degree, Thursay morning at 9:00.
