It's a simple thing, but those who can't do it may not be able to find a job, shop for groceries or even navigate public transportation. It's the ability to read. 30 million Americans read below the basic level. In Cuyahoga County, one expert says more than 200,000 residents are under-employed because of their inability to read well.
