Feeling stressed lately? Stress is a part of life, and many people think they can deal with it. But chronic stress can lead to some serious health issues, like heart disease or diabetes. Not only can stress cause physiological damage, it can lead to coping behaviors that are harmful too – like self-medicating with alcohol. Stress is bad enough in normal times but combined with “The Great Recession,” the stress of the holidays and dealing with sometimes difficult family gatherings, right now is a really good time to figure out what to do with all that stress.
