Candidates’ Forum: Ohio Attorney General Race Ohio Treasurer Richard Cordray would like to be the state's next attorney general. He says his investment background makes him uniquely qualified to go after Wall Street on behalf of Ohioans. Cordray's opponent is former US attorney Michael Crites. He says campaign donors too often wind up winning lucrative contracts from the AG's office. On The Sound of Ideas®, we'll hear from both candidates vying to be the state's top cop. You're invited to join us at nine on 90.3

Additional Information

*Independent candidate Robert Owens was not included in this forum because he failed to meet the minimum criteria WCPN established for participation. We followed the lead of the Presidential Debate Commission in determining who's eligible. Like the commission, we automatically invite the Republican and Democratic candidates because they have the backing of a major party. Independents and Third Party candidates may be included if they hit a threshold of at least 15 percent in at least one scientific poll. Owens fell short of that threshold in the two polls published so far on this race.
However, Robert Owens will be our guest Friday, October 17, here on 90.3 during Morning Edition. Also, WVIZ/PBS will air a debate October 14th involving all three candidates at the Columbus City Club. The debate airs Tuesday night at 11:00 on WVIZ/PBS.

We’ve heard much about the Presidential election’s historical significance, but there are races of great importance to be decided November 4th right here in Northeast Ohio. You’re invited to join us for The Sound of Ideas® special Candidate Forums, on 90.3.
