The College Sendoff, First Year Retention

Featured Audio

In the next week or so, thousands of Northeast Ohio teens will be headed off to freshman year in college. It's the first taste of true independence: No parents to help manage the balance of sleep, social life and academics. A new roomate. And, of course, laundry. We'll visit with students and parents on The Sound of Ideas to talk about the mix of excitement and anxiety. And we seek your practical advice on a smooth college transition.

Guests:

-Hilary Vogelbaum, Incoming MIT freshman

-Judy Rosman, Hilary’s mom

-Annie Nickoloff, Recent graduate of Case Western Reserve University

-Aaron Hemphill, Incoming Tri-C freshman

-Adrienne Williams, Aaron’s mom

-Bernie Savarese, Director of First Year Experience, Ohio State University

-Karen Miller, Vice President of Institutional Research and Enrollment Management, Tri-C
