Taking on Gun Violence

Featured Audio

Everyone is looking for a solution to our nation’s gun violence problem, but what will work? One idea that is gaining momentum is approaching the issue as a public health matter. Would it help if we start viewing gun violence as a disease needing a vaccine, rather than an ongoing political debate? This show will look closer at that idea, plus talk to advocates on both the gun rights and gun control side about what solutions they think will help.

Guests:

Dr. Edward Barksdale, Division Chief, Pediatric Surgery, UH Case Medical Center.

Jennifer Thorne, Executive Director, Ohio Coalition Against Gun Violence.

Jim Irvine, President of Board of Directors, Buckeye Firearms Association.

Justin Buchler, Associate Professor, Dept. of Political Science, Case Western Reserve University.
