As the summer heats up, it may be tempting to take a dip in the cool waters of Lake Erie. Not so fast! The shallowest of the Great Lakes, and smallest by volume, is also pretty dirty. The lake is dealing with tiny plastic beads, an algae bloom and pollution from coal plants. Still, it's a lot cleaner than it used to be.
