Extend the Sin Tax?

The push is on to get Cuyahoga County voters to approve a 20-year extension of the Sin Tax to fund repairs and upgrades for Cleveland's professional sports venues. But there's vocal opposition, and not just from smokers and drinkers who don't want to pay the tax. Is a tax on cigarettes and alcohol the appropriate way to fund these facilities? Should the public be in that game at all?
