East Tech Athletic Excited for Learning Opportunity in "Race"

"It's long overdue." That's what East Tech High School atheltic director Leroy Carter says about the release of "Race," the feature film that portrays the life of fellow East Tech graduate Jesse Owens. But the excitement to see the film was evident when Carter spoke to an auditorium full of East Tech students.

Carter hopes the movie will teach the students how successful someone can be coming from the same neighborhood. Some students will see an advance screening of "Race" Thursday.
