Matthew Desmond argues in his Pulitzer Prize winning book, "Evicted: Poverty and Profit in the American City," that housing ought to be a fundamental right in America. Read his book, as so many Northeast Ohioans are doing, and you'll get the message quickly that it is not. This hour, the author joins us to detail his findings, the statistics and the real-life stories of people who struggle mightily just to stay under a roof with light and heat. Evicted was chosen for shared reading in the One Community Reads initiative. The issues raised are important and impactful whether you read the book or not.
