Join Mike McIntyre for a conversation with NPR's very own Scott Simon, host of "Weekend Edition" and Michele Norris, host of "All Things Considered." Simon's new book, "Baby We Were Meant for Each Other," chronicles the story of how he and his wife Caroline decided to adopt two daughters from China. He weaves together stories from his own experience as well as stories from other adoptive parents and adopted children. Norris' recent book, "The Grace of Silence," is the story of her own family and the secrets they kept including her father’s shooting by a Birmingham police officer and her maternal grandmother’s peddling pancake mix as an itinerant Aunt Jemima. Norris encourages people to think about their own complex family legacies and to reflect on how well we really know the people who raised us. Join the conversation at 9 on 90.3.Michele Norris
