Jazz at Lincoln Center - Dave Brubeck Octet Special

The legendary Dave Brubeck died on Wednesday, December 5th, one day before his 92nd birthday. In honor of this iconic Jazz legend, please enjoy this show recorded In 2004 at Alice Tully Hall.

Dave Brubeck recreated his historic octet, precursor to the seminal "The Birth of the Cool". The set features Bobby Militello on alto, Lew Soloff on trumpet and a reunion with Brubeck's longtime arranger and clarinetist, Bill Smith. Tunes include Laura, What is this Thing Called Love, Sunny Side of the Street and a kickin' blues. This broadcast was hosted by Ed Bradley.
