Wildfires Spread Across Northern California

Facing one of the worst droughts in history, fire fighters in California work to contain a new wildfire that's forcing evacuations of thousands of people sixty miles east of Sacramento in El Dorado county. Officials say the wildfire has burned over 11,000 acres as of Wednesday morning. One neighborhood has already suffered major damage from the fire before it could be contained. So far, fire and rescue personnel say no injuries have been reported as they continue to evacuate residents from at risk areas. Officials warn that more than 500 buildings are threatened by the fire, and mandatory evacuations are in place for many northern California towns.
