SPEAKING OF WINNING – WE’VE GOT SOME REAL WINNERS IN OUR INBOX THIS WEEK! LET’S TAKE A LOOK.

CARSON FROM ANKENEY MIDDLE SCHOOL (I THINK THAT’S IN BEAVERCREEK) RESPONDED TO OUR QUESTION ABOUT WHETHER HEALTH COMPANIES SHOULD BE ALLOWED TO SET PRICES FOR MEDICINE:

NO, I DO NOT THINK HEALTH COMPANIES SHOULD BE ALLOWED TO SET UNLIMITED PRICES FOR THE MEDICINE THEY MAKE. IF HEALTH COMPANIES WERE ALLOWED TO SET UNLIMITED PRICES FOR MEDICINE, WE COULD LOSE A LOT OF GOOD PEOPLE IN AMERICA BECAUSE THE PRICES COULD BE SO HIGH THAT THE AVERAGE MIDDLE CLASS INDIVIDUAL WOULD NOT ALWAYS BE ABLE TO AFFORD THE MEDICATION THEY NEED.

EDEN FROM SUMMIT ELEMENTARY ALSO WEIGHED IN:

MEDICINE SHOULD FOR SURE BE PRICED LOWER. SOME PEOPLE ARE VERY SICK AND THEY CAN'T AFFORD MEDICINE. THEY MAY EVEN HAVE TO GO TO A HOSPITAL IF THEY DON’T GET THAT MEDICINE. IF I COULD MEET THE PEOPLE WHO SELL MEDICINE, THIS IS WHAT I WOULD SAY TO THEM. "WHAT IF YOU WERE SICK AND YOU COULDN'T AFFORD MEDICINE?"

NOAH FROM ST. PETER SCHOOL SENT US THIS REPORT ABOUT HOW HIS CLASS VOTED IN THE POLL:

MY CLASS ALL VOTED ON YOUR POLL AND EVERY SINGLE HAND SHOT UP FOR ‘NO’ WHEN MY TEACHER, MISS GEIGER, ASKED IF THE COMPANY SHOULD BE ABLE TO RAISE THE PRICE OF THE EPIPEN AS HIGH AS THEY WANT. THAT MADE ME HAPPY - BECAUSE I HAVE ONE.

(THANKS, NOAH)

MEANWHILE, QUINN FROM OLMSTED FALLS INTERMEDIATE SCHOOL WAS REALLY EXCITED ABOUT THE RADIO TELESCOPE AND THE WATER ON MARS THAT WE TOLD YOU ABOUT LAST WEEK:

I THINK THAT IT IS REALLY COOL THAT CHINA MADE A HEARING TELESCOPE. I WANT MARS TO HAVE MARTIANS. IF THEY ARE THERE, I HOPE THEY CAN SHAPE-SHIFT AND HAVE OTHER POWERS. GO MARS!

JACK FROM GREENTOWN ELEMENTARY SHARED HIS THOUGHTS ABOUT THE DEBATE:

HILLARY AND TRUMP SOUND LIKE ME AND MY BROTHER ARGUING AT HOME ABOUT WHICH ONE GETS THE LAST PIECE OF PIZZA. SOMETIMES WE SPLIT IT. I THINK THEY SHOULD JUST TALK ABOUT HOW THEY WILL HELP PEOPLE AND MAKE THE WORLD BETTER.

THANKS JACK -- AND THANKS TO CARSON, EDEN, NOAH, AND QUINN FOR ALL SHARING YOUR BRILLIANT THOUGHTS! KEEP ‘EM COMING!
