Lawmakers Vote to Impeach Brazil's President

To the South American country of Brazil now where there's a debate over whether the president there... should lose her job. Brazilian president Dilma Rousseff is in hot water and has been facing calls to resign from office for months.

But now, the country's congress has stepped in, voting to impeach the president. To impeach means to remove from office, especially for misconduct.

Rousseff is accused of hiding her role in a political scandal that plagued the world's sixth most populous nation. Brazil's senators will vote whether to proceed to a trial. Meanwhile, President Rousseff insists she is innocent, and says the impeachment is a conspiracy to push her out.
