Last debates for the Ohio Senate race and Presidential race

HERE IN OHIO, WE SAW ANOTHER DEBATE – BUT WITHOUT A TRUMP OR A CLINTON. HELLO, EVERYONE. I’M RICK JACKSON. THANKS FOR JOINING US TODAY.

SO FAR, WE’VE BEEN FOCUSING OUR ELECTION COVERAGE ON THE PRESIDENTIAL RACE, BUT IN OUR UPCOMING ELECTION, OHIO VOTERS WILL ALSO BE DECIDING WHO REPRESENTS THE STATE IN THE U-S SENATE. THE DEMOCRATIC CANDIDATE FORMER OHIO GOVERNOR TED STRICKLAND AND THE REPUBLICAN SENATOR ROB PORTMAN STAGED THEIR THIRD AND FINAL DEBATE OF THE ELECTION SEASON -- RIGHT HERE IN THE IDEA CENTER WHERE WE PRODUCE NEWSDEPTH!

ROB PORTMAN IS THE INCUMBENT – THAT MEANS HE CURRENTLY HOLDS THE TITLE OF SENATOR AND IS SEEKING RE-ELECTION. UNLIKE SOME NATIONAL DEBATES, THE CANDIDATES IN THIS DEBATE SHOOK HANDS BEFORE IT BEGAN - AND WERE MOSTLY RESPECTFUL OF EACH OTHER. SENATOR PORTMAN TALKED ABOUT THE JOBS THAT WERE LOST IN OHIO DURING TED STRICKLAND'S TIME AS GOVERNOR.

WHILE GOVERNOR STRICKLAND ACCUSED PORTMAN OF ALLIGNING TOO CLOSELY WITH OTHER REPUBLICANS IN THE SENATE, AND FIGHTING PROGESS.

THE ELECTION POLLSTERS SHOW THE REPUBLICAN, ROB PORTMAN, CURRENTLY HOLDING A DOUBLE DIGIT LEAD AS THE TIME OF VOTE APPROACHES. BUT, OF COURSE, STRICKLAND AND PORTMAN WEREN’T THE ONLY ONES DEBATING LAST WEEK! THE TOP PRESIDENTIAL CANDIDATES – FORMER SECRETARY OF STATE HILLARY CLINTON, AND BUSINESSMAN DONALD TRUMP -- MADE THEIR THIRD AND FINAL APPEARANCE ON THE DEBATE STAGE – AND, NOW, WITH JUST UNDER TWO WEEKS LEFT UNTIL ELECTION DAY, THIS ELECTION IS LARGELY IN THE HANDS OF VOTERS.
