Jerusalem Increases Security Following Attack

Israelis mourn the loss of five citizens as tension mounts in the region.

Two men attacked a Jerusalem synagogue during morning prayer services Tuesday morning, resulting in five deaths and injuring seven other people. The attack happened along the eastern border of Israel in an area called Har Nof, which is located in West Jerusalem. The two men responsible for the attack were Palestinian cousins from a nearby neighborhood.

An Israel defense spokesman called the incident a terror attack and said police and the military are increasing security throughout Jerusalem.

The FBI is expected to be involved as well, as three of the five people killed had dual citizenship in the United States and Israel.
