Lt. Gov. Mary Taylor Keeps Up Fight in Gubernatorial Race

Mary Taylor has been Ohio's Lieutenant Governor since 2010. Under Gov. John Kasich, she 's also served as director of the Ohio Department of Insurance and led the effort to reform Ohio's regulatory policies.

Now she seeks to move one chair up and is the only Republican left in the gubernatorial race other than the presumed frontrunner, Attorney General Mike DeWine.

In this interview with ideastream's rick Jackson, Taylor says she it still angry that the Ohio Republican Party endorsed DeWine last week, before there'd been any debates between the two.

At the central committee's endorsement meeting, she called DeWine a "creature of the establishment, a shill for the entrenched special interests and lobbyists who stalk the halls of the statehouse, looking for a handout." Before turning to issues such as Medicaid and education, Rick began the conversation by asking Taylor if she thought she had burned her bridges to the GOP.
