Live Wire Radio

Live Wire is a one-hour weekly radio variety show recorded in front of a live audience. It’s music, it’s conversation, it’s sketch comedy. It’s the show that dared to put tap dancing, juggling and ballet on the radio. Live Wire highlights the best musicians and most fascinating writers, poets, dignitaries, artists we can find in the even more beautiful pacific northwest.

CHERYL STRAYED is a hot commodity these days. Her memoir “Wild” has been recommended by pretty much every person with an opinion on books, including Oprah Winfrey, who chose Strayed’s book to re-launch her book club. She is also the formerly pseudonymous advice columnist “Dear Sugar”, and her latest book Tiny Beautiful Things: Advice on Love and Life from Dear Sugar features the best of Sugar, along with some never-before-published columns. http://www.cherylstrayed.com/

JACK OHMAN is an American editorial cartoonist based in Portland, Oregon. He has been the Oregonian’s cartoonist since 1983 and his work is syndicated nationwide in over 300 newspapers. He’s no stranger to controversy, but is a stranger to Doug Wolfgang of Pittsburgh, PA. https://twitter.com/JACKOHMAN

JENS LEKMAN is an iconoclastic Swedish musician with a trio of three albums and a dozen EPs under his belt (you have to make your own fun in Sweden sometimes, what with the winters). Pitchfork gave his 2007 album Night Falls Over Kortedala a 9.0 and after the release of his latest album “I Know What Love Isn’t” described him as “The most distinct and observant writer in indie rock today.” http://www.jenslekman.com/

Along with your host, COURTENAY HAMEISTER comedy by, FACES FOR RADIO THEATRE poetry by, SCOTT POOLE and music by House Band, RALPH HUNTLEY AND THE MUTTONCHOPS.
