Fifty percent of Ohio's General Revenue fund is spent on education, yet far too many children languish in poor performing schools, fail to graduate or graduate without the skills necessary to be successful in college or a career. What can we do to ensure every child has access to a high quality education? Senator Lehner, a Republican from Ohio's 6th District, discusses school funding, access to early childhood education, teacher quality, Common Core and the reform of charter schools.

Prior to serving in the Ohio Senate, Senator Lehner served one term as a State Representative for the 37th House District and three terms as a member of the Kettering City Council from 1998 to 2008. During this time, she was appointed to the Kettering Development Corporation and founded the First Suburbs Consortium of Dayton, as well as C.O.A.S.T., an organization focused on developing senior transportation options. Senator Lehner attended both American College in Paris and St. Mary's of the Woods College, earning a degree in history.
