Planning the Next Northeast Ohio

Northeast Ohio is experiencing a generational turnover in the world of transportation and community planning. Some of the newer leaders of public planning agencies see their job as one of not only preserving and enhancing community assets designed over the last century, but also fixing the impact of past decisions that haven’t worked out well, while also planning for sustainability and growth. This is a divergence from the past when planning was primarily focused on growth.

To kick off 2016, join us for a dialogue with Grace Gallucci, Executive Director of the Northeast Ohio Areawide Coordinating Agency, Metropolitan Planning Agency for Greater Cleveland, and Jason A. Segedy, Director of Planning and Urban Development for the City of Akron. These Gen-Xers lead the two public agencies responsible for overseeing all federal transportation spending in Cuyahoga, Geauga, Lake, Lorain, Medina, Summit and Portage counties. We'll talk about how our communities are working for their residents, how they can work better, what the path forward looks like, and what we're learning about meeting the diverse needs of our citizens.
