We venture to the neighborhood of Broadway Slavic Village where the 2015 Cleveland Orchestra At Home Residency is taking place through the month of May. It continues this weekend with an exhibition called  Rooms To Let, which invited Artists to take over four abandoned homes ravaged by the foreclosure crisis and let their creativity run wild - as a way to have a conversation about the neighborhood, housing, and art.

Art comes in many different styles, shapes and media.  Recently, a new business that celebrates those differences opened on the eastside of Cleveland, catering to Artists with eclectic taste. Here’s more about  The Upcycle Parts Shop

Many artists focus on one medium: sculpting… painting… music…but not Clevelander  Tom Balbo!  He's mastered three disciplines …print making, ceramics and something called cast paper making, which is the art of making paper - with a mold. That means that Tom in not only sculpting an impressive piece of art out of paper, he’s MAKING the paper, too!

And on this edition of Applause America, two intrepid explorers share stories AND photographs that document some of the traditions, beauty and culture of the people of East Africa.
