Dark Sky Park
Ever since man set foot on earth we've wondered, are we alone? According to some, the answer is no! Last year, the Mutual UFO Network - around since 1969 - received over 6,000 sightings of unidentified flying objects in the U.S. Our search for other life has taken us to the moon, put a robot on Mars and placed telescopes in orbit around the earth. Now, conducting your own search of what lies beyond the earth's surface just got a whole lot easier thanks to the Geauga District Park. It recently opened something they call a Dark Sky Park which boasts it's very own observatory! That, in and of itself, is an interesting story but one that can’t be told without at least mentioning a man named Norm Oberle.

50 Years of WCLV
In November, WCLV 104.9 FM, Cleveland's Classical music station, reached a milestone when it turned 50. On January 1, with very little fanfare, the station celebrated a new beginning as it became part of the ideastream family. Moving forward, WCLV will remain the voice of classical music in northeast Ohio with offices in the Idea Center at PlayhouseSquare. To reflect on the station's journey, we asked a very familiar voice to WCLV listeners - co-founder and President Robert Conrad - to take us back to the beginning of 104.9 FM.

Staging Success: The Story of PlayhouseSquare
Just about anyone working in the arts can testify that it's a difficult field in which to make a career. Even seemingly successful arts organizations can have their ups and downs. Take PlayhouseSquare. There was a time when the lights grew dim on this complex of theaters, and the future of what's now become the second largest theater arts complex in the country was in doubt. That's the story that plays out in a new documentary, Staging Success: The Story of PlayhouseSquare. The film, a production of WVIZ/PBS ideastream in collaboration with Think Media Studios, tells the story of the rebirth of the majestic theaters. We bring you a portion of the documentary that premiered on WVIZ/PBS in November.Thomas Curtin, Executive Director, Geauga Park District
