Architect Charles Schweinfurth
The name Charles Schweinfurth probably doesn't ring a bell, but the buildings he built during his career working in Northeast Ohio are memorable and familiar to most. An architect by trade, Schweinfurth came to Cleveland at the start of the 20th century when the city was experiencing a building boom. He quickly became the go-to builder in the region because of his high standards, drive, and extreme attention to detail. These were qualities that many appreciated, but they came at a high cost. A collection of his work is on view at the Beck Center for the Arts in the exhibit Charles F. Schweinfurth: Uncompromising Architect of Cleveland's Valiant Age.

Ohio Independent Film Festival Turns 20
Thanks to organizations like the Cleveland International Film Festival and the Greater Cleveland Film Commission, Hollywood has taken note of Cleveland. One lesser-known group on the film scene is Independent Pictures. For the past 20 years, they've worked to raise the profile and competency of local and regional Indie filmmakers and to show off the results at their flagship event, the Ohio Independent Film Festival. This year, the festival is a four-day event that takes place November 7th through the 10th at the Atlas Cinemas in Euclid, Ohio.
