Clermont County is located in southern Ohio, about 20 minutes from Cincinnati. The eighteenth president of the United States - Ulysses S. Grant - is a native son, born in the city of Point Pleasant. Clermont County is also the birthplace of Ohio's first paper mill. In the 19th century the county was the site of many routes on the Underground Railroad, a network of secret routes and safe houses used by runaway slaves on their way to Canada.
