Katie Spotz Finishes Cross-Atlantic Trip; Raises Money for Clean Drinking Water

Mentor native Katie Spotz accomplished her goal of rowing the Atlantic on Sunday, pulling into the harbor at Georgetown, Guyana after seventy days at sea. She is now the youngest person to row solo across the Atlantic Ocean. Her father and brother were on hand to welcome her at the end of her journey. Katie raised more than seventy thousand dollars for the Blue Planet Run Foundation.

News Depth,

I thought that Katie rowing the row-boat across the Atlantic Ocean was very Dangerous!! Now i think she did the right thing doing that because she helped so MANY peoples LIVES, she even risked her life for rowing a row-boat across the Atlantic Ocean for 70 days!

Katie is extremely brave! I would never sail all that way by myself. I would be super scared! I am glad she made it safely across the Atlantic ocean. It is very cool that she broke the world record!
